The Fifty Shades of Grey franchise was bumped from the top of the e-book bestseller list by Gone Girl, the summer's hot mystery novel by Gillian Flynn, Digital Book World reported yesterday.
This comes after the news that the velocity and volume of the "mommy porn" trilogy by E L James helped drive Random House to 20% increased sales for the first half of 2012. Jim Milliot in PW Daily wrote last week that the sales of the trilogy through English language imprints numbered 30 million copies in the second quarter alone, and have been evenly divided between print book and e-book.
